Graduation Threshold for Master Degree
- Elective courses must be taken at least 16 credits. And 14 credits of required courses.
- The” Institute Seminar” course in the first year of the master's degree is a required course. The” Institute Seminar” course offered in the second year of the master's degree is an elective course but compulsory. If you do not take this course, you will be suspended unless your supervisor agrees.
- The “Advanced Marine Biology” course is in the first semester of the first year of the master's degree and is a required course.
- The “Marine Ecology” course is in the second semester of the first year of the master's degree and is a required course.
- The “Marine Biological Research Methods” course is 1 credit in each semester of the first year of the master's degree and it needs to be paired with the “Advanced Marine Biology” course and the “Marine Ecology” course.
- Master’s degree second year and above need to choose “Graduation Thesis” course. The number of credits and grades on the transcript will appear after the master's degree exam is completed.

- Foreign students are required to take 6 credits of the “language and culture courses”. You can browse the Mandarin Learning and Education Center’s websites to know about the relevant situation of the course.

- According to the regulations of NTOU, the duration of study for master’s students is 4 years. You can apply to extend your study period for up to 2 years during your study time. You can take temporary leave up to 4 semesters during your study time.
